It is one of the most used and convenient methods for EPF balance inquiry. All it requires dial a dedicated number from your registered mobile number “ 011-22901406”. As you dial this number, your call will be automatically disconnected. Next, within seconds, you will receive a message stating your PF balance.

Once you dial this Toll-free Number, a call will get disconnected, and you will receive the Message containing the EPF balance in your account along with following other details.
What are the pre-requisites for availing Missed Call Facility?
- Mobile Number must be activated or registered with UAN at Unified UAN registration portal
- Any one of the following KYC must be available against the UAN
- Bank account Number
- Aadhaar Number
Note: If the UAN of the Member is seeded with any one of the Bank account number, AADHAAR, and PAN, then only he/she will get the details of PF balance on their registered Mobile Number.

Why would I choose EPF missed call facility to know the EPF balance?
While there are many ways to know your EPF balance but giving a missed call and know your balance is convenient for every EPFO member. That’s because you dont require a Smartphone for this service. On the other hand, if you want to use the app based facility, then first you require a smartphone and then have to install UMANG app.
Also, we do rarely use app for checking the EPF balance, so installing one more app for this rare task is not a good idea.
Similarly, for the SMS based facility, you need to remember SMS code and format to check the PF balance. That’s the reason, making a missed call is much easier as compared to typing an SMS.
What if missed call service is not working?
At times, it can happen you give a missed call for knowing the EPF balance, but the Message is delayed or not received on your registered Number, for whatever reasons it could be. In such a case, there are many other methods which you could employ for checking the PF details. However, the most convenient one after the missed call facility would be SMS based facility.

Format to check EPF balance is EPFOHO UAN ENG, you have to send this SMS on “7738299899”
